INSURANCE

WASHINGTON STATE MEDICAID

I provide direct billing for clients who are covered by Washington state Medicaid plans.

At the time of this publishing, there are no limits on how many sessions a client with Mediciad can have, and there is no cost to the client. However, some of this may change in 2027.

COMMERCIAL/PRIVATE INSURANCE

I am an out-of-network provider, and I do not provide direct billing for any commercial or private insurance carrier. If you would like to use your insurance benefits for our work together, I can provide you with a superbill (an itemized medical receipt) that you can submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement.

It is your responsibility to check with your insurance carrier to find out if your plan covers out-of-network benefits, their process for submitting superbills for reimbursement, and other requirements that they have to use out-of-network mental health services.

Here’s a list of recommended questions to ask your insurance carrier:

  • What is my policy year (most folks have policy years that start/end with a calendar year (Jan 1st-Dec 31st), but some have other start/end dates).

  • Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?

  • How much is my deductible and how much have I met so far in my policy year?

  • What is the out-of-network allowed amount for CPT codes 90791 (evaluation) and 90837 (regular therapy session)?

  • What is my out of pocket maximum and how much have I met so far in my policy year (the maximum amount of allowed medical expenses your plan expects you to pay)?

  • Are any mental health diagnostic codes excluded from coverage?

  • Are services provided by associate clinicians excluded?

  • What information is required on a superbill?

  • What is the process for submitting a superbill?

MEDICARE

As an associate level provider, I am not able to bill Medicare.
